CLINTON — LaVerne C. Wiese Sr., 82, of Clinton, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton. Private graveside services will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, IA. LaVerne Carl Albert Wiese Sr. was born on January 18, 1927, in Morrison, IL, the son of Henry and Anna (Hammer) Wiese. He was a forklift driver for many years with the former Central Steel Company. He is survived by his 4 children, LaVerne Wiese Jr. of Clinton, Cindy Neal of Rock Falls, IL, Anna (Edwin) Burmeister of Clinton and Randy Wiese of Davenport, IA; 2 sisters: Violetta Haley of Keswick, IA, and Darlene Darlington of Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
