CLINTON — Robert Thomas Merritt, 62, of Clinton, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at his home.Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2009, at the Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Royann Matthews from Fulton Assembly of God will be officiating. Memorial may be made to the family of Robert Merritt.Robert Thomas Merritt was born October 13, 1946, in Clinton, to Kenneth Merritt and Nancy (Hendrix). He graduated from the Clinton High School in 1965, he attended the University of Iowa. Robert worked at Chemplex; now Lyondell for 30 years, he was a controller and a fire brigade, he loved bowling at the Odeon Club and also enjoyed helping others. He loved animals, and enjoyed NASA, he was a member of Fulton Assembly of God.Survivors are his 3 daughters, Lisa (Michael) Mussman of Goose Lake; Theresa Doty of Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin; and Michelle (Jeff) Wright of Barneveld, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 2 great–grandchildren; 1 sister, Nancy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 brothers, Calvin (Linda) Merritt of Pennsylvania and Charles Merritt.
