CLINTON — Sheila M. Wildman, 85, of Clinton, died peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Tony Herold presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the Mass time at the church. Following the services, the body will be cremated. Private family burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Sheila M. Swamberger was born on June 18, 1924, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Edmund and Marian (Yuppie) Swamberger. She married Jerry Wildman on February 4, 1967, in Fremont, Nebraska; he later died January 20, 1999. Sheila was a 1942 graduate of Mt. St. Clare Academy. She was a veteran of World War II serving in the Waves from 1943-1945. Shelia was a homemaker. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, a member of the Mercy Auxiliary, vice president of the Bel-Air Condo Association and an active volunteer in the Clinton area. Sheila is survived by two sons, Richard (Dawn) Delaney of Kansas City, Missouri, and Steven (Virginia) Wildman of Iowa City, Iowa; two daughters, Jerry Ann (Keith) Stivers of Solon, Iowa, Marjorie Hoehle of Urbandale, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Steve (Sacha) Steine of Iowa City, Iowa, Joel Steine of Iowa City, Iowa, Rob (Becky) Hoehle of Des Moines, Iowa, Jerry Hoehle of Des Moines, Iowa, Tina (Jon) Baum of Coralville, Iowa, and Bill (Nikki) Wildman of Woodbury, Minnesota; 16 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Fiona, Tabitha Steine, Max Van Orden, Whitney, Lindsey, Caleb, and Cameron Hoehle, Louie and Jazlyn Hoehle, Jesse, Emily, Ashley and Jake Baum; Caden and Elle Wildman; two sisters, Jane (Harold) Wilkinson of Clinton and Joan (Anthony) Romeo of Littleton, Colorado; two brothers, Edmund (Jeanne) Swamberger of Clinton, and Thomas (Martha) Swamberger of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Prince of Peace Church, Clinton, Iowa.
