DEWITT — Winifred Ann McClimon, 82, of DeWitt, Iowa, died on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Iowa.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 8th, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, Iowa, with Rev. H. Robert Harness presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7th, 2009 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the church gathering space. A prayer vigil held by Sister Theresa Ann Spitz will be Sunday at 7:00 P.M. in the church gathering space. The pallbearers will be her 10 grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established.Winifred Ann (Wallace) McClimon was born in DeWitt, Iowa on April 30, 1927, the daughter of Nicholas and Minnie (Gravert) Wallace. She was a DeWitt High School graduate of the class of 1944. On October 20, 1947, she married Joseph Fabian McClimon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa. He died in 1991. She was employed as a data entry supervisor for Iowa Mutual Insurance Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.Mrs. McClimon's memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Legion Auxiliary and Delta Sigma Phi Sorority, where she held many offices throughout her 60-year membership.Winnie enjoyed playing cards, traveling, reading, embroidering, e-mailing friends and family and frequent visits from her family.Those left to honor her memory are five children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Steve (Janine) McClimon, DeWitt, Iowa and their children, Ryan (Sarah) and son, Dean, Houston, Texas and Dor Rae (Mike) Venable and their children, Alex and Maria, DeWitt, Iowa; Tim (Tammy) McClimon and their children, Patrick and Thomas, DeWitt, Iowa; JoEllen (Craig) Mettille and daughter, Brooke, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Will (Chris) McClimon, and their children, Kaitlin, Nick and Meghan, DeWitt, Iowa; Ann (Steve) Moyna and their children, Connor and Claire, Altoona, Iowa; and a brother, Dean (Shirley) Wallace, Clinton, Iowa.Mrs. McClimon was preceded in death by her husband, Fabian; two sons, Dennis and Michael; three brothers, Bob, Dick and Arthur; and two sisters, Catherine and Mary.Condolences may be expressed and a photo viewed at www.nelsoncfuneralhome.comDeath date: June 5, 2009
