DAVENPORT — Vivian E. Herzberg, 99, of Davenport, IA, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Bickford Cottage, Davenport. Services in celebration of her long and full life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16th, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton, IA, where graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Organ Fund.Mrs. Herzberg was born in 1909 in Buffalo, IA, to William S. and Agnes M. Wells. She married Howard L. Herzberg on August 21, 1930 in Morrison, IL. He died June 24, 1979. She was a secretary for the law firm of Betty, Betty and Neuman, Davenport. In 1954, she began working as an executive secretary at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton, assisting four different administrators before her retirement in 1975. Her memberships included Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport, and its Elizabeth Circle; O.E.S. Chapter #178, Davenport; and Daughters of the Nile, Davenport.Survivors include her daughter, Sharon K. (Christian A.) Lorenzen of Davenport; grandchildren, Mark C. (Lorrie) Lorenzen of Lebanon, IN, and Amy L. Blevins of Davenport; and great-grandchildren, Derek, Tara, Cara, Craig, Kurt, and Nathan.
