GILBERT, Ariz. — Victor Charles Hansen, 96, of Gilbert, AZ., and formerly of Grand Mound, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at his daughter's home in Gilbert. Visitation will be Friday 5 to 7 p.m. at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church in Grand Mound, Iowa. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday also at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, with Pastor Susen Le Blanc officiating. Burial will take place in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with the funeral arrangements. Victor was born October 5, 1912, in DeWitt, Iowa, to John and Agnes (Buhman) Hansen. He attended a country school and graduated from Grand Mound High School. He married Matilda Bernice Hahn in rural Scott County 1937. The Hansen farm was in the family for 92 years and Victor dearly loved it. Victor farmed most of his life and he took great pride in it. The farm was located south of Grand Mound. Victor's memberships included Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, president of Orange Township and Clinton County Farmers Union; he served as Orange Township trustee and local school director and Grand Mound Consolidated school director. He was an Iowa Master Swine Producer in 1958. He served on the Farmers Home Administration. He was an affiliate member of Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ. Victor was a lifetime member of the Clinton Co. Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Matilda, of Gilbert, AZ.; 2 daughters, Charlene Voss, of Santa Clarita, CA, Janet Pinter, of Gilbert, AZ; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
