CLINTON — Carol Jean Erling, 75, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral services are to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Community Congregational Church Ucc, 2300 Pershing Blvd., Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, North Chapel, 2304 North 2nd Street. Burial will take place in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Carol was born in Sterling, IL, on May 5, 1934, the daughter of Lyle and Dorothy (Jones) Landis. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1952 and Augustana College in 1956. Carol was united in marriage to Donald Erling on October 18, 1968, at the Community Congregational Church in Clinton. Carol was a personnel manager at Target for 20 years. Carol was a member of Community Congregational Church; she loved to travel and enjoyed crocheting. Carol is survived by her husband, Donald, of Clinton; 1 daughter, Lisa (Gary) Kramer of Fulton, IL; 2 sons, Steven (Anita) Erling of Clinton, David and his special friend Danelle Erling of Clinton; 7 grandchildren; 4 stepgrandchildren; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren; and 1 stepbrother, Weldon (Cam) Otten, of Aledo, IL.
