MAQUOKETA — Mae H. Kuehl, age 86, of Maquoketa, died Thursday May 21, 2009, at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, is assisting the family. Casket bearers will be Briton and Jeremy Hildebrandt, Landon and Collin Geronzin, Andy Kuehl and Jeff Raab. Honorary pallbearers will be Danaca Raab and Jason Kuehl. Mae was born on Dec. 3, 1922, in Davenport, IA, an identical twin and daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Schmidt) Farrance. She graduated from Davenport High School and attended Augustana College. Mae married Howard Kuehl on Aug. 23, 1947, in Davenport; he died in 2007. Mae was a homemaker and a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was active with church council and Sunday school. She taught stain glass at Clinton Community College for several years. She enjoyed sewing, going to flea markets and auctions. Mae is survived by her four children, Kathleen Geronzin of Maquoketa, Glen (Linda) Kuehl of Clinton, Maryann (Gary) Hildebrandt of Anamosa, IA, and Ted (Cindy) Kuehl of Independence, KS; seven grandchildren, Danaca (Jeff) Raab, Briton Hildebrandt, Collin Geronzin, Andy Kuehl, Jeremy Hildebrandt, Landon Geronzin, and Jason Kuehl; three great-grandchildren; a identical twin sister, Helen (Loyd) Poppe of Strawberry Point, IA; a brother, Arthur (Verna) Farrance Jr. of Rock Island, IL; a sister-in-law, Arlene Kroeger of Miami, FL; and a brother-in-law, Bill Beauchat of Greenfield, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Matt; and a sister. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.Death date: May 21, 2009
