CLINTON — Barry W. Moore, 68, of Clinton, Iowa, died Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A celebration of Barry's life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Clinton Moose Lodge from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements. Barry was born December 29, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Max C. and Frances (Dougherty) Moore. He was a DeWitt High School graduate and attended Clinton Community College and the University of Dubuque. He was in the National Guard for six years. Barry married Betty Barsema July 29, 1977, in Morrison, Illinois. Barry was employed as a machine operator at Dupont for more than 35 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the AMVETS and the Moose Lodge 363, Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Clinton; daughters, Lois (John) Wilson and Christine (Jason) Grant both of Clinton; and grandchildren, Alex, Nathaniel, Matthew and Delaney. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society or to the VNA Hospice.
