The Clinton Advertisor Thursday January 18, 1917 p. 6 After an illness of several years, due to the infirmities of old age, Mrs. Elizabeth Lohberg was taken by death Wednesday evening at the home of her niece, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilden, 211 Clinton street, with whom she had been making her home for the past four years. Elizabeth Hoeing was born in Oeding, Westphalia, Germany, July 4, 1828, and came to America early in life. For some time she lived with her relatives in Quincy, Ill., and in 1853 was married there to Frank Lohberg. They resided in Quincy for a short time and later went to Wisconsin, where they remained for a brief period, coming to this city the latter part of the year 1854, and since that time they resided here with the exception of onr year, when they removed to Mexico City, but returned here at the end of that time. Mrs. Lohberg's husband, who was engaged in the lumber business extensively, died in 1891, and her two children, one daughter and a son, Frank Lohberg, both preceded her in death. She is survived by three grandsons, Frank, Fred and Louis, all of whom reside in this city, and followed up the lumber business, Frank being actively engaged in that business with Joseph Borbeck and forming the Borbeck-Lohberg Lumber company. It is also thought that she has a brother in Germany. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church and burial will be made in Oakland cemetery.
