October 2, 1915 - April 10, 2009BRIGHTON, Mich. — Florence M. Zastrow, 93, died April 10, 2009, in Brighton, Michigan, of congestive heart failure. The body has been cremated.Florence was born October 2, 1915, in Clinton, Iowa, to Jens and Andrea Paaske. She graduated from Clinton High School and worked at Paaske Furniture. She married Edwin Zastrow November 3, 1932.Florence was an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player. She was very proud of her Danish heritage. Florence was well known for her sharp sense of humor and occasional pithy comments. She was a fifty-year member of the Clinton Country Club and lifelong member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.Survivors include her sons, Keith (Julie), Brighton, MI, Eddie (Sherri), Iowa City; brother-in-law, Muffy Zastrow, Clinton; nephew, Louis Paaske Jr. (Dorla) Clinton. Also, six grandchildren, Andrea of Ann Arbor, Scott (Lisa) of Howell, MI, Nathan (Katy), Chicago, Adam (Maggie), Chicago, Lucas (Yoko), Kanazawa, Japan, and Thanh, Concord, CA. Florence is also survived by six great-grandchildren.Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; her sister Alice; her brother, Louis; and her parents. Florence will be buried in Springdale Cemetery. A gathering of friends and relatives will share their memories of Florence in Clinton, Iowa, June 5, 2009.Death date: April 10, 2009
