ALBANY, Ill. — Raymond G. Schaver, 82, of Albany, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Robert Douglas will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lusk Memorial Cemetery, Albany, IL. Memorials may be made to the Albany United Methodist Church Parking Lot Fund. He was born May 11, 1926, in Fulton, IL, to John C. and Jennie (VenHuizen) Schaver. Ray was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. He married Lorraine M. Rummel on April 24, 1948, in Albany, IL; she survives. Ray was employed by ICA, Morrison, IL; Agrico Company, Fulton, IL; International Harvester, East Moline, IL; and Montgomery Elevator, Moline, IL. He then engaged in farming in the rural Albany, IL, area. Later he worked for Shares Elevator, Albany, IL, and then Ralston Purina, Clinton, IA, retiring after 19 years. He was a member of Albany United Methodist Church, Albany, IL. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending auctions and as of late enjoyed rides in the country during which time he was able to "window farm." Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; three sons, Garry (Beverly) Schaver of Morrison, IL, Gordon (Jolene) Schaver of Fulton, IL, and Gerald (Carol) Schaver of Silvis, IL; four grandchildren, Aaron (Leslie) Schaver, Amanda (Tim) Powers, Nichole Femila, Derek Schaver; three stepgrandchildren, Barry (Robin) Hinrichsen, Eric Hinrichsen, Brycee Irion; five great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Johanna Temple, Dorothy James; and one brother, Jacob Schaver.To send online condolences go to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: April 27, 2009
