ALBANY, Ill. — Thomas W. Leahy, 81, of Albany, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, April 9, 2009. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Schauer of Chancy Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Thomas Warren Leahy was born in Clinton on July 29, 1927, to Arthur and Mildred (Holdorf) Leahy. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Tom married Joyce Still on December 28, 1946, in Clinton, IA. Tom worked as a maintenance supervisor at DuPont in Clinton. He was a member of the AMVETS. He loved boating and quilting and he especially enjoyed woodworking, making clocks and music boxes. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Albany, IL; three daughters, Kristin (Layman) Smith-Ridenour of England, AK; Karlyn (Phillip) Lemke of Albany, IL, and Kerry Leahy (Charlie Blount) of Clinton, IA; one brother, Phil Leahy of Circleville, OH; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
