ELVIRA — A memorial service for Clyde and Harriett Hill will be held at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. Lunch for family and friends will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church.Clyde Hill, a lifelong farmer and resident of Clinton County, passed away on December 15, 2008, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Hill and Rose Hill Cousins; stepfather, Charles Cousins; and brother, Clarence Hill. Clyde is survived by a brother, Marvin Hill.Harriett Hill passed away on February 17, 2009, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 82. She was raised in Wheatland, Iowa, by parents Frank and Anna Andresen, married husband Clyde 63 years ago, and spent nearly 60 years in Clinton County farming and raising the Hills' six children. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Lund and Ethel Leinbaugh; and two brothers, LeRoy Andresen and Howard Andresen. She is survived by two sisters, Marianne Bachman and Phyliss Lentfer, and a brother, Bill Andresen.Clyde and Harriett Hill are survived by sons, Dr. Gerald Hill (Linda), Jasper, GA; Paul Hill (Lynne), Morristown, TN; Kevin Hill (Kaye), Coppell, TX; David Hill (Jacqueline), Des Moines, IA; and daughters, Rosanne Norton (David), Hendersonville, TN; Barbara Olsen (Jack), Hope Mills, NC; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The Hills were preceded in death by a great-grandson, Zeven Price.The family requests that gifts in memory of the Hills be made to the Clyde and Harriett Hill Memorial Fund at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, 2207 380th Avenue, Clinton, IA 52732.
