Sylvan Edwards 04/22/2002 CAMANCHE, Iowa -- Services for Sylvan O. Edwards, Camanche, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Clinton AMVETS. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home and Crematory, where a 6 p.m. prayer service will be conducted by John Schmitt. Mr. Edwards died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. He worked for the E.I. DuPont Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1973 as a machinist. He was born July 9, 1911, in Jackson County. He married Mary Deloris Kuehner in 1944 in Whitehall, N.Y. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in France and Germany from 1942-45. Survivors include his wife, Mary Deloris, Camanche; daughters, Rosemary Rickerl, Barbara Larson and Susan Edwards, all of Clinton, Margaret Peterson, Camanche, Linda Stowers, Mesa, Ariz., and Sylvia Haskill, Canada; sons, Raymond Edwards, St. Louis, Mo., and Donald Edwards, California; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Alvina Waters and Frances Sherwood, both of Cedar Rapids; and half-brother, Howard Huntoon, Blue Grass.
