Charles Bailey 03/29/2002 CLINTON, Iowa -- Charles O. "Butterball" Bailey, of 638 South Bluff Blvd., died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes & Crematory, Clinton. The body will be cremated. Inurnment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Bailey was employed almost 20 years as a manager at Clinton Cab Co. and retired in 1982 after four years at Swift & Co. During his earlier years, he worked at Thomas Oakes Lumber Yard, Clinton. He was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Harpers Ferry. He married Sandra Langfitt in 1933 in Princeton. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife, Sandra K.; daughters, Cindy Anderson and Tammy Oestreich, both of Clinton, and Vickie Sharnoski, Phoenix; son, Charles M., Clinton; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his mother, Grace Bailey, Clinton; sisters, Lela Stansbarger, Walters, Minn., Mary Schoenfeld, Rock Island, and Sharon Craig, Clinton; and brother, Jim, Rock Island.
