Alvin Bentley 03/07/2000 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Alvin W. Bentley, of 2210 Iowa Ave., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chancy Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military services conducted. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Mr. Bentley died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at his home. He retired as a boilermaker after 32 years at Clinton Corn Processing. He was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Clinton. He married Alice Bice in 1948 in Clinton. He served more than 20 years in the Army National Guard. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice or the church. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mary Krogman and Lois Simmons, both of Clinton, and Elizabeth Reckman, Davenport; sons, Charles and Roger, both of Clinton, Thomas, Eagan, Minn., and Gerald, Papillion, Neb.; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Brown, Clinton.
