William Byers 03/06/2002 COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- Services for William D. Byers, of 11210 95th St., formerly of Colona, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home & Crematory, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Byers died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. He was employed as a journeyman pipe fitter at John Deere Harvester Works. He retired in 1998. In his earlier years, he was employed as a pipe fitter at Alcoa Davenport Works, Riverdale, Iowa, and Clinton Corn Processing, Clinton. He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Clinton. He married Katherine Bratcher in 1973 in Camanche. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Barbara Henson, Mayflower, Ark.; a son, Donald, Savannah, Ga.; stepsons, Keith Bratcher, Rapid City, Steve Bratcher, Rapid City, and Greg Bratcher, Riverdale, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack, Clinton.
