Charles Buckman 03/04/2002 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Charles Evin Buckman, Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Clinton, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Buckman died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Westminster Care of Clermont, Clermont, Fla. He was a grocery store and barber shop owner-operator at 110 South 7th St., Clinton. Charles Buckman was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Clinton. He married Mary Ellen Petersen in 1934 in Rock Island, Ill. She died in 1996. He served in the Navy in the Pacific from 1944-47 on the U.S.S. Howard Gilmore. A memorial has been established for Endowed Educational Scholarships at Mt. St. Clare, Southeastern Community College, and Iowa Wesleyan College. You may also contribute to memorials at Hospice of Lake, Sumter County or Hawthorne at Leesburg. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Jean, Leesburg, Fla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters, Agnes Marr Kerwin, Mount Home, Ark. and Vera DeSimone Ott, Clinton; and brothers, Levi Buckman, Clinton, and Harold Buckman, Chicago;
