Josephine Ehl 02/22/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- Josephine M. Ehl, Clinton, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Schmitz Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Josephine Marie Kohten was born on March 19, 1928, in Palm Bay, Fla. She married George "Ed" Sinky in 1947 in Clinton County. He died in 1973. She later married Harold W. Ehl in 1976 in Sabula. She and her husband, Harold, were part-owners and operated the Maple Lane Motel in Fulton, Ill., for 12 years, retiring in 1991. She was previously employed with the Clinton Garment Factory as a seamstress and the Train Depot as a food server. Mrs. Ehl was also employed with the Frontier Motor Inn, Clinton, shortly after it opened. She was also a homemaker. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include her husband, Harold; a son, Daniel Sinky, LeClaire; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Georgia Kane, Clinton, Ruth Crampton, Albany, Ill., and Pat Dean, Fulton; and brothers, Carl Kohten, Colonial Heights, Va., and Harold Kohten, of Ohio.
