Thomas Burke 02/22/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Thomas J. Burke, Clinton, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, where a 5 p.m. Parish Vigil Service will be conducted. Mr. Burke died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. He was a security guard with E. I. DuPont de Nemoures Company, Inc., for 35 years, retiring in 1975. Prior to that, he was employed with the railroad for a few years. Thomas Joseph Burke was born on July 10, 1913, in Clinton. He married Pearl Petersen in 1938 in Clinton. She died in 1987. A memorial fund has been established for Mercy Hospice, Clinton. Survivors include his daughters, Kathleen Johnson, Chicago, and Margaret Hornburg, Riverdale, N.Y.; a son, Thomas, Schaumberg, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
