Roy Ross 12/09/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Roy D. Ross, of Houston, formerly of Clinton, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Ross died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Mariner Health Nursing Home, Houston. He was employed as a pipefitter at DuPont, Clinton. He was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Wessington Springs, S.D. He married Lois Mathew in 1946 in Clinton. She died in 1957. He married Alberta Newmann in 1962 in Clinton. She died in 1989. During World War II, he served in the Army. Survivors include daughters, Sherry Murphy, Houston, Diane DeWeerdt, Gilbert, Ariz., and Susie Francis, Middletown, Ohio; sons, Douglas Ross, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Brent Ross, San Jose, Calif., Paul Ross, Evansville, Ind., and Terry McCoy, Mesa, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Eckman, Hot Springs, Ark.
