Gerald Walling 10/10/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Gerald W. "Pete" Walling, of Clinton, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, Clinton. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Walling died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home. He was employed as a working foreman and clerk for the Western Weighting and Inspection Bureau for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He had worked for a subdivision of all the railroads in the United States, but primarily for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Mr. Walling was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Clinton. He married Clarissa Danielsen in 1934 in Clinton. She died in 1986. Memorials may be made to The Pony's Express Riders of Iowa for Camp Sunnyside, Des Moines. Survivors include daughters, Sherry Brown, Clinton, and Jeanne Morales, Cordova, Ill.; sons, Fredrick and Lawrence, both of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
