FRANKLIN E. CHASE

Franklin E. Chase, 87, died at 3 o'clock Thuesday afternoon in the home of his son, Charles Chase, 423 Thirteenth avenue, South. He had been in failing health the last three weeks. The body reposes in the Shadduck Funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery, Camanche.

Born June 15, 1855, in Amboy, Ill., he married Miss Mary Maxell there, moving to Clinton 17 years ago, where he has made his home since.

Mr. Chase is survived by four sons, Del Chase, Calamus; George Chase, Davenport; Verne Chase, Morrison, Ill., and Charles Chase, Clinton; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, besides a sister, Mrs. Emma Meyers, Dubuque.

Preceding him in death were his wife in 1926, five children and two grandchildren.
