William Sturtz 06/04/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for William J. Sturtz, of 538 18th Ave. South, Clinton, will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Miles American Legion. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory with a 4:30 p.m. vigil service. Mr. Sturtz died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Samaritan North Hospital, Clinton. He retired in 1979 after 32 years as a coater for the DuPont Company. He was born March 27, 1914, in Chicago. He married Hazel Rhoades in 1944 in Clinton. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; daughters Patricia Turner and Rita Sechrest, both of Clinton, and Ada Steeg, Rock Falls, Ill.; sons John "Jack," Circleville, Ohio, and James, Clinton; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Paysen, Clinton; and a brother, George Sturtz, Emmett, Idaho.
