Gwen Romer 05/05/1999 DELMAR, Iowa -- Services for Gwen Romer, of rural Delmar, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Mrs. Romer died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at her home, after an extended illness. Gwen Scott was born July 11, 1918, in Calamus. She married Dillon Romer in 1941 in Calamus. She had taught school in Calamus and Baldwin for three years before her marriage. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Patricia "Tish" Romer, Hastings, N.Y.; sons, Eugene, Dallas, and Phil, Dubuque; two grandchildren; and a brother, Dean Scott, Lorain, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Scott, in April 1999.
