Jackson Thoms 05/03/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Jackson M. "Dutch" Thoms, of 1640 Fairway Dr., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chancy Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Clinton Amvets. Visitation is 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clinton Masonic Temple, with a Masonic Rose Croix service at 8 p.m. Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Thoms died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital South, Clinton. He was employed at E.I. DuPont Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1985. From 1986 to the present, he was executive secretary of the Clinton Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies. He was born July 12, 1928, in Clinton. He married Cheral Petersen in 1949 in Clinton. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, three Bronze Campaign Medals and the Combat Infantry Badge. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Laurel Day, Cedar Rapids; sons, David and Brian, both of Clinton; three grandchildren; a sister, Betty Kratz, Apache Junction, Ariz.; brothers, Richard and Gary, both of Clinton, James, Greenwood, Mo., Donald, Thousand Palms, Calif., and Robert, Topeka, Kan.
