BUCKNER, Mo. — Danny Dell McElroy Sr., 60, of Buckner, Mo., passed away Dec. 7, 2008, at the Monterey Park Nursing Facility.Visitation was Dec. 10, 2008, at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 West Main St., Blue Springs, Mo., 64015, (816-229-3276). A celebration of life followed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cody McElroy Scholarship Fund.Danny was born June 22, 1948, in Savanna, Ill., to Dell and Velma Marburger McElroy. He was a manager at Builder’s Square. He was a member of Crosscreek Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Mo.; and the Sons of American Legion Post 499. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casino, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wes, Eldon, Robert Chrest; and sister, Vera Behan.Survivors include sons, Rob and Leslie McElroy, Gladstone, Mo., Danny D. McElroy, Blue Springs, Mo., Cody McElroy, Bates City, Mo.; daughter, Laura and Jason Messer, Buckner, Mo.; sister, Lula Gonnerman, Lawton, Okla.; the mother of his children, Karin Blevins; and four grandchildren.Death date: Dec. 7, 2008
