MORRISON, Ill. — Esther M. Behrens, 92, of Morrison, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2008, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL. The Rev. Mike Winkelman, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Morrison will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.She was born April 22, 1916, in Sterling, Ill., to Oliver and Ida (Metzler) Dohner.She was educated in Sterling Grade Schools and was a 1933 graduate of Sterling High School. She married Elmer L. Behrens on October 17, 1936, in Sterling, IL. He died August 13, 2001.She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Morrison, Ill., past member of the Lakeview Country Club, Sterling, Ill., and was an avid golfer. Esther enjoyed square dancing and traveling and winter trips to Florida. Survivors include five sons, William (Audrey) Behrens of Sterling, Ill., James (Diane) Behrens of West Bend, WI, Ronald (Sandy) Behrens, Sterling, Ill., Gerald Behrens, Morrison, Ill., and John (Amy West) Behrens, Morrison, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Marcia (Terry) Ratliff, Doug (Donna) Behrens; Kira Behrens, Jenna Behrens; Milissa (Shawn) Beyer, David (Amie) Behrens, Adam (Amy Bender) Behrens; Chris Behrens, Patti (Mitch) Renkes; and thirteen great-grandchildren.To send online condolences go to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: Dec. 7, 2008
