MORRISON, Ill. — Jennie H. Tegeler, 97, of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Jon W. Nienhuis, pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, and Mercy Hospice, Clinton, IA. She was born June 2, 1911, in Morrison, IL, to Peter and Hattie J. (Dykema) Oostenryk. She was educated in rural Whiteside County Grade Schools. She married Henry Tegeler on January 31, 1931, in Morrison, IL. He died October 5, 1989. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL. Jennie loved to cook and teach her granddaughters to cook. She also liked to sit and play games with her grandchildren when they were young. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Arnie Tegeler of Morrison, IL, and Mrs. Dona Tegeler of Morrison, IL; five grandchildren, Jonelle (Kevin) Hook, Morrison, IL; Harvey (Connie) Tegeler Jr., Morrison, IL; Tim (Lisa) Tegeler, Morrison, IL; Don (Joy) Tegeler, Morrison, IL; Steve (Elisabeth) Tegeler, Rock Falls, IL; two stepgrandchildren, Diana (John) Ericson, Wise River, MT; Steve (Jerianne) Miller, Monroe, WI; ten great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Paul Tegeler and Harvey Tegeler; one granddaughter, Rebecca Tegeler; and one sister, Ellen Engelkens.
