The Clinton Herald Monday September 11, 1967 p. 8 Bernard N. Nelson, 77, of 941 14th Ave. S., died late Sunday in Jane Lamb hospital after a year's illness. He had returned to Clinton in 1962 after living in Decatur, Ill., over 50 years. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Snell-Smith funeral home. Rev. Frank G. Patterson of First Baptist church, will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home where Rose Croix services also will be held. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park. DeMolay consistory members will be pallbearers. Mr. Nelson was born Nov. 29, 1889, in Clinton, the son of Albert and Elizabeth Hagberg Nelson. He founded what became the Clinton News Agency in 19 but later moved to Decatur where he operated a luncheonete and gift shop. His marriage to Miss Irene Wheeler took place Sept. 30, 1932, in Springfield, Ill. He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. Charles J. (Mabel) Johnson of Clinton, and eight nieces and nephews.
