The Clinton Herald Friday November 16, 1945 p. 16 Albert Nelson, 83, of 1206 South Ninth street, died at 11:30 a.m. today at Mt. Pleasant where he had been a patient for nine months. The body is in the Snell funeral home where arrangements are pending. Mr. Nelson was born June 26, 1863 in Sweden, and came to Clinton in 1882. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pauline Nelson, two daughters, Mrs. Charles O. Johnson, Clinton, and Mrs. Anna Peterson, Chicago; and two sons, Frank, Chicago; and Bernard N., Decatur, Ill.

The Clinton Herald Saturday November 17, 1945 p. 8 Funeral services for Albert Nelson, 83, 1206 South Ninth street, retired Chicago and North Weswtern boilermaker, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Immanuel English Lutheran church, after a short prayer service in the Snell funeral home at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Roy Thelander will officiate, and burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mr. Nelson, born in Sweden, came to this country in 1882, and in 1884 married Elizabeth Hagberg, who died Jan. 28, 1922. On Dec. 17, 1923, he married Mrs. Pauline Carlson, who survives. He was a member of the Immanual Lutheran church and was a deacon for many years. He was a member of Clinton lodge 265, I.O.O.F., and the local boilermakers' union. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Charles G. Ghonson, Clinton, and Mrs. Anna Petersen, Chicago; two sons, Frank, Chicago, and Bernard N., Decatur, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. F.E. Pietz, Delmont, D.D., and Mrs. Joseph Altman, Chicago; eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A son Arthur, died in 1942.

The Clinton Herald Monday November 19, 1945 p. 12 Rites for Albert Nelson, 83, retired Chicago and North Western boilermaker, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Immanuel English Lutheran church, after a short prayer service in the Snell funeral home. The Rev. Roy Thelander, pastor, officiated, and burial was in Clinton Memorial park. The I.O.O.F. conducted services at the grave. Pallbearers were Henry Qualman, Ralph Webber, A.G. Smith, Chris Stamp, George Peters, Robert Johnson, Ray Brown and Peter Swanson. Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nelson, Decatur, Ill.; Mrs. Anna Petersen, Chicago; Frank Nelson, Chicago; Mrs. Lorraine Smithoy, Minneapolis; Mrs. F.E. Pietz, Delmont, S.D. and Mrs. Joseph Altman, Chicago. Amonth survivors are a sister, Miss Mary Nelson, 1819 Roosevelt street, and a brother, Dr. Joseph Nelson, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thurn, Mount Morris, Ill, and Mrs. Hazel Barnes, South Bend, Ind.
