CLINTON — Jeanne E. Legendre, age 90, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008, at Heritage Manor in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1st, at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Lyons Methodist Church in Clinton or Heritage Manor Activity Fund in Staunton, IL. Jeanne was born on August 8, 1918, in Stettler, Alberta Canada, to Frank and Florence (Seymour) Lake. Raised in Clinton, Iowa, Jeanne graduated from Lyons High School. On March 29, 1942, she married Kenneth A. Legendre; he died on July 15, 2004. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker and later, as devoted mother to their sons, Don and Randy. They attended Lyons Methodist Church. Jeanne is survived by her sons, Donald Legendre of Fort White, FL, and Randy (his wife, Kathy) of Staunton, IL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Helen (Warren) Wiggins, Doris (Eddy) Miller, and Murlynne (Butch) Camp; and a brother, Donald Lake. Death date: Oct. 27, 2008
