CLINTON — Hazel E. Martzahn, age 98, of Clinton, died Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Mercy South Living Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church. Hazel was born on Sept. 8, 1910, in Rock Falls, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Bessie (Courtland) Hill. She married Harold Martzahn on Oct. 7, 1933 in Stanwood, IA, he died in 1997. She worked as a presser at the Clinton Garment Factory for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Hazel enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. Hazel is survived by her son, William (Millie) Martzahn of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews, including local nieces, Joyce (Donald) Feller of Clinton and Hazel Holst of Milan, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert in 1986; two brothers, and two sisters.Death date: October 18, 2008
