CLINTON — Anna E. Laing, age 92, of Clinton, died Friday Oct. 17, 2008, at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Nancy Dethmann, Larry and Joan Laing, Amy and David Crock, and Eric Dethmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Phyllis Hochstedler, Nathan Crock and Benen Crock. Anna was born on Dec. 5, 1915, on the family farm in Clinton County, IA, the daughter of Carl and Emma (Jurgersen) Jensen. She married David Laing on Dec. 14, 1940, in Clinton; he died in 1999. She was a dedicated homemaker. Anna and her husband farmed near the six mile area for over 56 years. She loved baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Anna is survived by her daughter, Nancy Dethmann of Clinton; a son, Larry (Joan) Laing of Spragueville, IA; and three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, seven brothers and a sister.Death date: Oct. 17, 2008
