Leon H. Boock, 69, of Waukegan, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Vista East Medical Center.Lee was born March 3, 1939 in Clinton, IA, to Harry and Mina (Landon) Boock.Lee served in the U.S. Navy for ten years, and retired from Abbott Labs after 28 years of service.He married Patricia Kell on April 29, 1961, and had two daughters, Cheryl and Tammy.Lee was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Waukegan, serving as an active member for many years and had also been on the church board and was past president. He also loved his friends, Iowa, Nascar, Germanfest, his motor home, feeding birds, picking up lunch tabs, visiting his grandkids, Daisy, his dog and most of all his family.Lee is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Huff of German Valley, IL, and Tammy (Brett) Holst of Coppell, TX; six grandchildren, James and Aubrey Huff, Karsen, Kierra, Saige and Seth Hoist; brothers, Larry (Debbie) and Jerry (Sharon) Boock; sister, Lou Ann Daniels; and sister-in-law, Ruth Boock; brother and sisters-in-laws, Rita Ruf, Bob and Marolyn Kell, Sally and Tiger Tennies, Gloria Fickler and Jim and Audrey Kell; and many nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Loren; and brother-in-law, Art.Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2720 McAree Road, Waukegan, from 4-8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor John Shumate officiating.Interment will be private.Donations may be made in his memory to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.Arrangements were under the care of the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee.Visit our online guestbook at www.gurneefuneralhome.com.Death date: Oct. 10, 2008
