CORDOVA, Ill. — Marilyn R. Gibson, 63, of Cordova, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial will be in Cordova Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren.The former Marilyn Rita Mucenski was born January 9, 1945, in Chicago, the daughter of Julius and Estelle Neaseda Mucenski. She married Dan Gibson on August 27, 1977, in Cordova. Marilyn enjoyed shopping, playing cards and games.Survivors include her husband, Dan; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbi Jean Hansen, Clinton, IA, Melissa Ann and Sean Foster, Clinton, IA, and Bridget Leigh and Scott Eyrich, Argo Fay, IL; a daughter-in-law, Andrea Qualls, Sycamore, IL; 9 grandchildren; her mother, Estelle Mucenski, Crete, IL; a sister, Carolyn Chorak, Crown Point, IN; and a brother, Billy Mucenski, Schererville, IN. She was preceded in death by a son, Craig Qualls; a daughter, Carrie; her father; a sister, June; and a brother, Bob.Death date: Sept. 23, 2008
