AURORA, Ill. — Evelyn Ruth (Gregory) Clark, age 89, of Aurora, IL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2008. She was born on March 27, 1919, the daughter of John and Annie (Loots) Housenga and lived most of her life in Fulton, IL, until she moved to Aurora, IL.She was united in marriage to Mr. Ross Odell Gregory, until his death on January 2, 1962. She was then married to Mr. Lindus Clark on July 11, 1972, until his death on December 4, 1992. Mrs. Clark attended St. Olaf Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL. She loved spending time with family, cooking and crocheting, especially ornaments for her family's Christmas trees. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by both family and friends.She is survived by her daughters, Donna Nichols of Naperville, IL, and Sharon (Lloyd) Stringer of Yorkville, IL; her grandchildren, Michelle Stewart, Marcia (John) Shamblin, Polly Carter, David Stringer and Carrie (John) Cunningham; her five great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Bessie Housenga of Albany, IL; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Housenga; her two husbands, Ross Gregory and Lindus Clark; her son, Harold; her brothers and sisters, Marvin, Meno, Nellie, Libby, Grace, Geneva and Garrett; her stepchildren, Ester, Emma, Edna, Genevieve, Don and Merle.A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy in Yorkville, IL, with Pastor Scott Guhl, officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008, in the Fulton Cemetery in Fulton, IL.Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the funeral home in Yorkville, IL.Arrangements made by Nelson Funeral Homes and Crematory, 630-553-7611.Death date: Sept. 21, 2008
