LOST NATION — Donetta A. Johnson, 79, of Lost Nation, formerly of Clinton died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus. A private family service will be held at Lemke Funeral Homes-South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr., Clinton. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Benjamin J. Fox, Adam F. Vilmont, Brent Reynolds, Joede Kayser and John Finin. She was born February 2, 1929, in Kewanee, IL, to Samuel Leon Jenkin and Bernice (Marley) Jenkin. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1947. She married Richard A. Johnson in 1948 at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, where they resided for over fifty years. She was a mother and homemaker. In 1977, she started teaching Porcelain Doll classes, as well as making many of her own. She was also a member of the Sweet Adeline Quartet. Her favorite job of all was sewing, cooking and vacationing with her family, especially with her grandchildren.Survivors include two daughters, Deborah A. (Brent) Reynolds of Fulton, IL, and Christine M. Fox-Vilmont of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren, Benjamin J. (Tina) Fox of Overland Park, KS, Jenny A. (Joede) Kayser of Eldridge, IA, Adam F. (Cathleen) Vilmont of Over Park, KS and Kelly Bartman of Wilton, IA; one sister, Ruth A. (Floyd) Leonard of Lost Nation, IA; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Abigail, Madelyn Kayser, Bailey Fox and baby Vilmont, soon to be born.She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.
