MORRISON, Ill. — Jeanette A. Aiken, of Morrison, IL, passed away at Prospect Park Living Center, Estes Park, CO on Saturday, August 30, 2008, following declining health.Jeanette Alice Feldt was born in Fulton, IL, on August 9, 1921, to Dennis and Effie (Huizenga) Feldt. She grew up in Fulton and graduated from Fulton High School. Jeanette married Robert A. Aiken on March 9, 1946. Bob and Jeanette were life-long Morrison residents. She was an active member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.Jeanette was a homemaker for most of her life, but held many part-time jobs, including managing the fabric department at the Ben Franklin Store during the 1970s. She loved to sew, quilt, play Scrabble and work crossword puzzles. She was an avid fan of WGN radio. Her garden was always tended and the birdfeeder full at her house.Jeanette was a sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sister Catherine and husband Harlan Dornbush of Erie; a son, Bob Aiken and wife Kerry of Estes Park, CO; a daughter, Patricia Horner and husband Jim, of Loveland, CO; a brother-in-law, Marv Aiken, of Grand Lake, CO; two granddaughters, Eva Aiken Chinn and husband Joshua of Fort Collins, CO and Suzanna Horner of Loveland and Fort Collins, CO; and four nieces and nephews, Mary Jo Dornbush Dowell of East Moline, Mark Dornbush of Erie, Cindy Aiken Carson of Littleton, CO, and Steven Aiken of Arvada, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband.Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the lower level of Ebenezer Reformed Church at 2:00 p.m. on September 21, 2008, with informal visitation with the family at the church from 12:45 to 1:45 that afternoon. Family graveside services will be held Monday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ebenezer Reformed Church Endowment Fund in care of Allnutt Estes Park Chapel, 1302 Graves Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517.
