CARLSBAD, Calif. — Devin Patrick O’Neal, beloved son of Rory and Marcia O’Neal, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Born April 21, 1982, he was a lifelong resident of both Carlsbad and Oceanside. He was an engaging and loving young man with a great zest for life. All who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss him and his fantastic sense of humor.Devin was a graduate of Carlsbad High School. His passion was the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he was never happier than when out hiking, camping and spending the night under the stars. His true joy was found in spending time with his family. His star will continue to shine brightly in our hearts for years to come. Devin is survived by his beloved parents, Marcia and Rory O’Neal, of Carlsbad; beloved sister, Kelsay O’Neal of Boulder, Colorado; great-grandparents, Stanley and Gladys Kelsay of Clinton, Iowa; grandparents, Elizabeth O’Neal of Oceanside, Phil and Emily Kelsay of Camanche, Iowa; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends that will cherish his memory.In lieu flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Fellowship Center, 737 E. Grand Ave., Escondido, CA 92025 in Devin’s name.Death date: Aug. 12, 2008
