CLINTON — Leona E. Qualman, age 90, of Clinton, died Wednesday Aug. 27, 2008, at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:30 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice. Leona was born on January 28, 1919, in Pipestone, MN, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Baldridge) Melander. She married Henry Qualman on July 20, 1957, in Clinton, he died in 1994. She had trained as a beautician and was a foreman at the Clinton Garment Factory. She was a member of the Clinton AMVETS Auxiliary and Clinton Weight Watchers. Leona is survived by her daughter, Chili (Doug) Brown of Maquoketa, IA; a son, Chuck (Linda) Qualman of Clinton; 8 grandchildren, Jason, Ginger, Amber, Coral, Frank, Curt, Tom and Alice; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.Death date: Aug. 27, 2008
