CLINTON — Phyllis J. Roth, age 79, of Clinton, died Thursday Aug. 21, 2008, at her home. Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday Aug. 30, 2008, at Prince of Peace Parish-Sacred Heart Church. According to her wishes, cremation rites have taken place. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation. Phyllis was born on March 3, 1929, in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Phil and Helen (Brandt Cook) Murphy. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1947. She married Kenneth H. Roth on Nov. 23, 1950, in Clinton, he died in 2007. Phyllis was a homemaker and worked at PFC in Camanche for several years. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, going to garage sales. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Steve) LaCourse of Buford, GA, and Beth Roth of Clinton; four sons, Michael (Phyllis) Roth of Young America, MN, Paul (Christy) Roth of Clinton, Jeff (Jane) Roth of Camanche and Matthew (Lisa) Roth of Clinton; 15 grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Andrew, Jennifer, Lindsay, Spencer, Shannon, Cameron, Nicholas, Taylor, Morgan, Mitch, Brandon, Bridget, and Alyssa; two great-grandchildren, Josie and Jeannie; four sisters, Patricia (Ken) Klotz, Bonnie (Paul) Biehl, Betty Jane Dourlain, Ann Brown; a brother, Richard (Donna) Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sons in infancy, John, Joseph and David.Death date: Aug. 21, 2008
