HOLLAND, Mich. — Rena Vander Eide, age 87, of Holland, Mich., passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Resthaven Care Center.Rena was born in Garden Plain, Ill. She moved to Holland in 1968 from Morrison, Ill., and was a member of the 14th Street Christian Reformed Church.She and her husband farmed for many years.Rena also volunteered at Bibles for Mexico.Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1984 and a son, Virtus, in 1975.Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Liddell of Mount Morris, Mich., and a daughter-in-law, Jaci and Don Riemersma of Holland; five grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Adam, Shelly, and Mike; eight great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Jay and Virginia Wilkins, Alice and Cliff Housenga, and Eunice Miller, all of Illinois; brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the 14th Street Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Marv Hofman officiating.Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.For more information and an online registry, visit www.lifestorynet.com.
