Krejci, Grace Winters

SAVANNA, Ill. — Grace (Winters) Krejci, age 94, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away on August 11, 2008, in Dutton, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, with a luncheon following at the church. A memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church from 3 to 4:00 p.m. There will also be a memorial service held Saturday, September 13, 2008, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Savanna. Online condolences and memorial tributes may be sent to the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com.Grace was born on September 20, 1913, in Woodbine, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Amy (North) Winters. She was married to Robert H. Krejci on June 18, 1937. Grace was a member of the Palisades Art League, a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, an election judge for 60 years, and a former member of many church and civic organizations over the years. She has had several published books of poetry and won many prizes for her paintings. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, traveling, and was an avid walker. Grace will be missed by all. Grace is survived by four children, Mary (Larry) Bearsley of Savanna, Illinois, Robert H. (Jerre) Krejci of Dutton, Alabama, Peggy (Lee) Mader of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, and Fayellen Sanetra of Mt. Carroll; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, one brother, two nieces and three great- grandchildren. Death date: Aug. 11, 2008
