MILES — Genevieve A. Jewell, 74, of Miles, died July 28, 2008, at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2008, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr. A private funeral is planned at a later date.Genevieve was born March 21, 1934, in Clinton, to Roy Wernick and Emma (Howell). Genevieve attended the Clinton schools, she married Lester Jewell in 1954, he preceded her in 1956. She worked at Woolworth’s at the lunch counter and on the Gambling Casino, she retired in 2002. Genevieve enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing and making quilts, and she truly loved playing bingo. She also collected porcelain dolls, at one time she had over 100 dolls. She always looked forward to the trips to Michigan her sister Janice and her would go on. They would sight see and spend time with family. Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Robinsen of Hammond, IN, Claudia Jewell of Shoreline, WA, Jamie (William) Schmidt of Miles; one son, Barry Jewell of Clinton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice (Morry) Renkes of Clinton; one sister-in-law, Roberta Wernick of Traverse City, MI.Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Ernie and Bob Wernick; and her sister, Denise Wernick. Death date: July 28, 2008
