WALCOTT — Herschel John Greenwalt, 65, Walcott, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at his daughter’s home in Clinton. A memorial service will be held at Community Fellowship Church in Blue Grass, Iowa, on Wednesday, August 6th at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to The Walcott Volunteer Fire Department. Lemke Funeral Home, North Chapel, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.He was born September 23, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to John Herschel and Julia (Vander) Greenwalt. John graduated from Manual High School in Peoria in 1960 and from Bradley University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and CPA designation. John married Susan McBride, November 28, 1964, in Peoria. Early in his working life, he worked for Caterpillar, which led to ownership in multiple other businesses. In addition to being a CPA, John also did computer programming, mortgage brokering and property management. He was a member of the Walcott Lions Club and Jaycees, the QCRP of which he served as an officer at the local and state levels and was a Boy Scouts of America Scout Master.Surviving are his wife, Susan; daughters, Colleen (Brent) Nielsen, Clinton, and Rebecca (Corey) Cook, Missouri; sons, J.D. (Shelley) Greenwalt, Minnesota, Lucas (Michelle) Greenwalt, California, Jacob (Toni) Greenwalt, Blue Grass and Jared (Peggy) Greenwalt, Silvis; grandchildren, Merrill Mitchell, Julia Mitchell, Wade Burnett, Anthony Wilroth, Emily Wilroth, Dakota Greenwalt, Austin Greenwalt, Cameron Greenwalt, Tanner Greenwalt, Kane Greenwalt, Keaton Greenwalt, Logan Greenwalt, Vivian Greenwalt, Adam Nielsen, Heather Cook, Justin Mettlin, Kyle and Kurt Smith. Death date: Aug. 2, 2008
