CLINTON — Phyllis A. Eads, age 88, of Clinton, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30th at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home where a vigil service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons.Phyllis was born in Clinton, Iowa on July 21, 1920, the daughter of Lenis G. and Ada E. Mann Helferich. Phyllis graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. She earned her Iowa Teacher’s Certificate from Marycrest College in Davenport. Phyllis married Everett W. Eads on September 23, 1940 in Clinton. Everett died in 1989. Phyllis had been employed as a coupon processor with the A.C. Nielsen Company in Clinton for 17 years, retiring in 1985. She was member of Prince of Peace Parish, the Macular Degeneration Association, Clinton Women’s Club, the YWCA, and a volunteer with the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. Phyllis is survived by two daughters; Pat (her husband Dick) Sack of Clinton, and Linda (her husband Harry) Pederson of McKinley, TX; two sons, Jack Eads of Clinton, and Bob (his wife Mary Jo) Eads of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a sister, Maxine Totten of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Phyllis, in 1958, six brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made to the Alverno or Genesis HOSPICE.
