1917 - 2002

Louis C. Knockel, 85, DeWitt, formerly of Clinton, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at West Wing Place, DeWitt.
No services will be held. The body was donated to the University of Iowa deeded body program. Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements
Mr. Knockel was employed many years as a chief chemical engineer at Hawkeye Chemical Co., Clinton. He retired in 1981.
He was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Dubuque. He married Charlotte Ferris in 1937 in Dubuque. She died in 1987.
During World War II, he served in the Army.
Survivors include a son, Louis F., St. Louis; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
