GRAND MOUND — Patricia “Pat” Bender, 72, Grand Mound, Iowa, died suddenly Monday afternoon, June 30, 2008. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound with cremation to follow.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound.Patricia A. Bender was born on June 2nd, 1936, in Grand Mound, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Lund) Green. She attended Grand Mound High School and then married William Dean Bender on September 23rd, 1954, at St. Ambrose Chapel in Davenport, Iowa.Survivors include her husband, Bill; and her children, Larry (Cindy) Bender, Bettendorf, Iowa, Linda (Bill) Alles, New Haven, CT, Gordon Bender, Grand Mound, Iowa, Joel (Maggie) Bender, Brazoria, Texas, Jeff Bender, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Ken (Polly) Bender, DeWitt, Iowa, Kathy (Brian) Landry, Dawsonville, Georgia, Dennis (Kari) Bender, Grand Mound, Iowa; and 15 grandchildren; a brother, George Green (Shirley), Grand Mound, Iowa; a sister, Marilyn Jesswein (Gale), Gold River, California.Preceded in death by her parents, a son Galin; a brother and a sister.Memorials may go to the Grand Mound Community Center or Ss.
